Martha “G.G.” Frances Bennett, 101, of Nashville, TN, passed away on March 6, 2025. A beloved Christian woman, she was a lifelong member of Dalewood United Methodist Church, where she found joy in serving others and sharing her faith.
Martha was a proud graduate of East High School and worked for over 25 years at Baptist Hospital, where she touched many lives with her dedication and compassion. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and played a key role in raising her five grandchildren, showering them with love, wisdom, and care. She was also a member of the Theta Rhea and Rebecca Lodge.
Martha is preceded in death by her beloved husband and the love of her life, John Bennett; her parents, Chester and Pearl Holland; and her great-grandson, Johnny B. She is survived by her daughter, Kay Byrd; her grandchildren, Laura Wallace, Eddie Byrd, Sally (Marc) Rudzinski, John (Sherri) Byrd, and Cindy (Bill) Furkins; her great-grandchildren, Emily, Sean, Jared, Ricky (Ashley), Cassie (Lee), J.J., Max, Michelle, Julie, Christopher, and Amber; and 10 great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind many special friends whose lives were made richer by her presence.
Her life was better than balloons.
Visitation will be held Monday, March 10, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and Tuesday, March 11, 2025, from 12:00 pm until the service at 2:00 pm at Phillips-Robinson Funeral Home, Pastor Ken Edmondson officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the charity of your choice.
