Marjorie Reiter Hales was born March 31, 1930, in Bryn Mawr, PA. Marge passed away on September 10, 2024, from a recent fall at her home at Williamson County Medical Center, Franklin, TN.

Graduated from Lower Merion Senior High School, Aquinas Jr. College and Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU). Resided at Fountains of Franklin, Franklin, TN since 2020. She married Major Thomas W. Hales, Jr., in Wiesbaden, Germany September 30, 1952, and upon returning from Germany, lived in Nashville, TN.

Tommy and Marge had four daughters, Jenny Williams, Thompson’s Station, TN; Katy Hales, Denver, CO; Mary Turek, Parker, CO; and Becca Ganick, Nashville, TN. Marge was blessed with five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Marge was a devoted Christian and a member of First Presbyterian Church, Nashville, TN for over 70 years.

Marge was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and was truly loved by anyone who encountered her. She was a renowned local artist, an avid reader and lover of books, inherited by her mother and passed on to her daughters.

A graveside service will be held at Spring Hill Cemetery, 5110 Gallatin Road, Nashville, TN 37216 on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at 1:00 pm. Rev. Sandra Randleman, First Presbyterian Church, officiating. https://www.dignitymemorial.com/obituaries/nashville-tn
