Marjorie B Chapman – Age 96 of Nashville, TN passed away peacefully in her home on November 23, 2024. She was born July 30, 1928. She is survived by her niece, Pam Turner (William Turner); nephews, Mike Swope, Bobby Swope and Ronnie Swope (Christy Swope); 4 great nieces; 4 great nephews; 3 great-great nieces and 3 great-great nephews.

In 1945 at the age of 17 she started working for the Bell Telephone Company and was a dedicated employee until she retired with 38 years of service in 1983 from South Central Bell. She has been a loyal member of The Telephone Company Pioneers of America her entire career. Mostly she was devoted to her family. Marjorie was the rock of the family her entire life. From the time she was a young adult she was there for everyone who needed her.

She purchased her home in 1941 in the Caldwell-Abbay Hall area of Nashville and from that day forward anyone in our family that needed a place was welcome. She loved and cared for her mother, George Ann Buttler, and 3 sisters, Helen L Swope, Ann Clay and Hollace Crowell who have all preceded her in death.

From Pam, Mike, Bobby and Ronnie: “For Our Aunt, the incredible woman who has been a 2nd mother to us. From the time we were born, she was always there during good and bad. During the laughter and the tears. She has been a Grandmother to our children and a great grandmother to their children. She has made a profound impact on our lives, and we are so blessed to have had her. She loved us with all her heart and we loved her.”

“In life we loved you dearly
In death we love you still
In our hearts you hold a place
No one else will ever fill.”
