Margaret P. O’Connor, 81, born August 25, 1940, passed away Saturday, September 25, 2021.
She is survived by her husband of 34 years, George E. O’Connor, Jr.; 3 daughters, Cynthia N. Lauen (Ryland) of Arkansas, Sandra G. Nutgrass of Kentucky, Terri Lynn Nutgrass of Indiana; 4 stepchildren: George E. O’Connor III (Qiqi), Peggy Lusk (Jimmy), John O’Connor (Sheri), and Michael O’Connor (Carol); 7 grandchildren: Melissa Lauen Gardner (Marcus), Erin O’Connor, Kayla O’Connor Hughes (Matt), Maci O’Connor, and Tarea O’Connor; 3 great-grandchildren: Ryder, Madison, and Axl Chase Gardner as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends including her best friend of 62 years, Martha Rogers.
She was preceded by her parents, Earnest Peach and Anna Searcy Peach; 1st husband of 17 years, Hubert M. Nutgrass; 2 sisters, Christine “Dolly” Peach and Daphna Peach Noel (Gerald); 1 brother, Bobby Peach; and 1 niece, Sandra L. Wray.
Margaret loved her family and friends. It has been said she never met a stranger. She helped anyone she thought was in need, either through the church or in person.
Margaret was currently a member of the Church of Christ of Green Hills, Nashville, TN, and a former member of Okolona Church of Christ in Louisville, KY. She loved her Lord Jesus Christ and served Him all the days of her life. One of her greatest joys was the children of the church and its Youth program (Pike Kids). The family requests in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to the Children/Youth Ministry (Pike Kids) at the Church of Christ in Green Hills, 3805 Granny White Pike, Nashville, TN 37204. Margaret requested a private family service.
