Linda Gayle Tyree, age 81, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2024.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Benjamin Franklin and Eula West Sweeney (stepfather, Norman Thomas Binkley) and her beloved sister, Evelyne Darlene Scott.
She is survived by her husband, James Wendell Tyree; daughters, Dana Carroll (Terry) Walker and Regina Lynn (Myron) Smith; grandchildren: James (Ashley) Bentley, Jacob Bentley and (Dawn Bearga), Gwyneth (William) Hopkirk, Jason Walker, Adam (Ashley) Walker; James “Clay” (Rachel) Smith, and Joseph Smith; great-grandchildren: James Tyree Bentley, Scarlett Bentley, William Smith and Averie Smith; brothers, Kenneth (Cathey) Sweeney and Phillip (Joy) Sweeney; nieces, DeShea (Trey) Wallace and Debi (Glen) Stafford; nephew, Patrick Sweeney; numerous loving, extended family.
Linda loved spending time with friends and was especially dedicated to her family. She started the Day Care Center at St. Ann’s Episcopal Church where she served as the first Director while enjoying the children’s adoration. She enjoyed painting, art, music and reading. She also loved Tennessee Walking Horses, trail riding and spending time at the Getaway Farm in Lewisburg.
Service will be at Christ Church Cathedral located at 900 Broadway Nashville, TN on Wednesday, May 22, 2024. Visitation will be at 10:00 am with the service following at 11:00 am. https://www.phillipsrobinson.com
