Lana Sue Wilson passed from this earth on March 4, 2025, after complications from a stroke a few days earlier.

She was born October 9, 1943, in Belleville, Illinois where she lived for the first part of her life.

She was preceded in death by her father Edward Nadler, her stepfather Arthur Carl Wildt, her mother Lucille Betty Wildt, and her daughter Robin Lynn Kasten.

She enjoyed growing up in Belleville with her mother, stepfather, and younger sister Rhonda. She also had a special place in her heart for her maternal grandmother, who lived in their home for several years. Lana always said that no one could braid her hair without pulling it except Grandma Kinzel. She was active in the Belleville High School Band where she played clarinet, and her skills resulted in numerous solos and awards. Lana joked that her main goal in high school was getting married and having children. She was successful in achieving those goals with the birth of her son Bob and her daughter Robin. Tragically, the father of her children, Robert Norman Luetkemeyer, died of kidney disease when their children were still young.

Lana moved to Nashville in 1977 with her family. She worked in different industries along the way, including an orthodontist office, food brokerage, and the business side of computer service. Eventually, she found her true calling when she entered the field of apartment management. Over the course of about 30 years, Lana developed a reputation as a very capable and skilled manager. Lana made sure that she and her staff took good care of her residents’ needs. Because they knew she would get the job done, company management gave her a great deal of independence. Due to this, it soon became clear that she would not put up with a bunch of foolishness from either residents or employees.

Family and friends were extremely important to Lana. She maintained contact with old friends and new friends alike. Lana was clearly a talker and had a strong personality. It was common to see her talking on the phone or having lunch with friends. She just enjoyed being around people.

Lana’s children were totally devoted to her. Sadly, she lost her daughter Robin about 16 months ago to a sudden heart issue. Lana and Robin were very close. As a caring and devoted son, Bob has always expressed his love and gratitude for Lana throughout her life. Bob’s wife Micki also expressed her love often, as did Lana’s grandchildren Cody and Chase. Lana was looking forward to the birth of her first great-granddaughter, Madeleine, with grandson Cody and his wife Chantel.

Along the path of life, Lana had stepchildren who maintained a love and affection for her. They have expressed their gratitude for her love, guidance, and care even though it has been some time since they shared the same household.

Lana was a member of Lakeshore Christian Church. She enjoyed the worship and fellowship of other members as well as the spiritual guidance of Pastor Randy.

The last 20 years or so, Lana traveled the road of life with her adoring husband Claude. They met on the dance floor, and although they had not spent as much time on the dance floor recently, they could still show out if a demonstration was needed. Lana and Claude enjoyed some wonderful trips all over the country with her sister Rhonda and brother-in-law Jerry, together collecting several albums of pictures of their wonderful experiences. Lana and Rhonda shared a special close relationship.

Our hearts ache at her passing. Lana will be painfully missed. Our lives are richer because she was a part of them. We are comforted by all the fond memories we keep and the knowledge that her soul is at rest. Rest in peace, Lana. We love you.
