Kenny Norman Sr Obit

Robert Kendell Norman Sr, 82, a beloved Nashville patriarch, sadly left this world on April 24th, 2025. He was born on March 23, 1943 in Nashville, TN to JD and Nina Norman. Known better as Kenny, he was known for his strong will and passionate beliefs.

He worked at the Tennessean, and worked as a Court Officer within Metro Courts. He would later serve as Juvenile Court Clerk for 12 years. Kenny was a proud member of the Goodlettsville Masonic Lodge, Madison Elks Lodge and was a lifetime member of the Nashville Al Menah Shriners Hospital.

He worked fearlessly and tirelessly in Nashville politics while volunteering for several campaigns. He also loved to work on the Norman farm and was a barbecue legend in his free time.

He is proceeded in death by his mother, Nina Elizabeth Norman, and his father, JD Norman, Sr.; And his siblings, Barbara Haynes(Joe) and JD Norman Jr (Pat). He is survived by his children, Robert Norman Jr (Lisa Gunter) and Amy Norman, his grandchildren, McKenzie Norman and Kennedy (Joseph) Maxey. He also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was beloved by many and will be missed. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 1, 2025, from 4pm until 8pm, with a masonic service starting at 7pm, at Phillips-Robinson Funeral Home, 2707 Gallatin Pike, Nashville, TN 37216. There will also be one hour of visitation prior to Kenny’s Celebration of Life on Friday, May 2nd at 12pm. Burial will take place at Spring Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Shriners Hospital for Children.
