Ms. Kathy Lynn Lambert Grisham, age 63 of the Elmwood Community, died Friday afternoon, October 24 at High-Point Riverview. Mrs. Kathy Lynn Lambert Grisham age 63 of the Elmwood Community was pronounced deceased on arrival at the Highpoint Health- Riverview Emergency Room at 3:59 p.m. Friday afternoon October 24, 2025. She was discovered unresponsive at her Elmwood Community home on Cookeville Highway home by her son and Smith County dispatched a unit to the scene at 2:59 p.m.
Bro. Floyd Massey will officiate at the 11 a.m. Thursday morning October 30th funeral services from the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home. Burial will be near her father at the Dickens Cemetery in the Maggart Community.
The Grisham family will receive friends on Wednesday October 29th from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. and again on Thursday from 8 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Thursday October 30th services at Sanderson in Carthage.
Kathy was born in Carthage on March 21, 1962 and was one of three daughters of Faye Martin Lambert of the Elmwood Community and the late George Wilburn Lambert who died at the age of 62 on January 17, 2003.
She was saved as a young girl and was a member of the Mt. Zion Church in the Sullivans Bend Community.
She was a recipient of her General Education Degree.
Kathy was an avid reader and lover of books, often accompanying her sister Kelly to events and conventions when she could.
Kathy was also a lover of music, who enjoyed playing the piano and singing. She even dipped her hand into writing songs and sang many of them at church from time to time.
Kathy had recently started crafting in her retirement and was making shirts and lots of other items for family and friends.
She loved her family and friends that she made along the way and will be sadly missed by them all.
Mrs. Grisham was formerly employed at the Texas Boot Corporation in Carthage and retired in April of 2024 from Harris Industries (formerly Overstreet-Hughes) in South Carthage, where she was assigned to the fabrication department.
Surviving in addition to her mother Faye, are her two sons, Robin Lynn Grisham and wife Daphney of Westmoreland, Stephen Grisham and wife Brandy of the Elmwood Community; two granddaughters, Lily Grisham and Ruth Grisham; two sisters, Karen Lambert Glover and Kelly Lambert Martin and husband Brandon all of the Elmwood Community; father and step-mother of her two sons, Robin Ward Grisham and wife Debbie of the Horseshoe Bend Community.
The Grisham family requests memorials to the Dickens Cemetery Mowing Fund.
