Katherine (Kitty) McKee. Kitty had no middle name and once had some official document returned to her as Katherine NMI McKee. (no middle initial). For years we referred to her as Katherine NMI McKee, which always brought a smile.
Preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth Liz McKee; her father, Edward McKee; her brother, John Andrew McKee and her sister, Elizabeth (Betty) McKee. She is survived by her nieces Edith (Edie) McKee and Rebecca (Becky) Elias.
Kitty was a lifelong resident of Nashville and surrounding areas. She took great joy in saying she was born in Davidson County and lived there all her life. She attended Isaac Litton and Madison High School and Vanderbilt University. She was an active Church member and attended several Episcopal churches in the Nashville area, her last church was St Marks, Antioch, TN. Kitty played the piano and came from a musical family. Her father and sister were both church organists and her mother, a trained vocalist, led the choir at St John’s Episcopal Church for many years. Kitty was an avid gardener and her tomatoes were legendary. She also had a love of dogs and was always surrounded by boxers and Dachshunds. She was a steadfast friend to many and will be missed.
