John is survived by his wife of 24 years, Erica Schlichting Jennings; daughter, Emilee Mansfield Jennings; son, Jonathan Carl Jennings; mother, Christine Gholson; sisters, Carla Jennings Liss and Rene Bailey; and many other loving family members. He is preceded in death by his father, Johnnie Lee Jennings, and his brother, Doyle Lee Jennings.

John was a devoted father who loved and supported his children in their numerous talents and passions.
