Mr. Joey Bush age 60 of the Pea Ridge Community was discovered unresponsive at his Pea Ridge Road home on Tuesday morning November 19, 2024. He was pronounced deceased at 2 p.m. that afternoon at the High Point – Riverview Medical Center E. R.
Mr. Bush is at the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home. Graveside services and interment will be conducted on Friday afternoon November 22nd at 1 p.m. from the Chestnut Mound Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery with Bro. Jeff Burton officiating.
The family will receive friends at the graveside following the services and burial will be beside his father.
He was one of three children, a son and two daughters of Mrs. Linda Jean Sullins Bush of the Pea Ridge Community and the late retired home contractor, and Maggart Community native, Billy Joe Bush who died at the age of 84 on December 7, 2019, and was born Joey Glenn Bush in Carthage on June 9, 1964.
Mr. Bush was a 1982 graduate of Smith County High School where he was on the golf team all four years, played basketball, and was a member of the Pep Club his junior year.
Mr. Bush received an engineering certification and before retirement was employed in the engineering department at the Upper Cumberland Membership Corporation.
Perhaps following in his father’s footsteps, he always loved the game of golf and having played in high school was very proficient in his skills.
He was a non-denominational Christian.
Surviving in addition to his mother, Linda, is his daughter, Hannah Bush Bottom and husband Martin and their daughter, Marian of Hartsville; two sisters. Tressa Bush of the Pea Ridge Community, Melody Bush Oldham and husband Sammy of the Tanglewood Community.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
The Bush family has requested memorials to the Chestnut Mound Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery mowing fund.
