Mr. Joe “Larry” Baker age 72 of Goodlettsville, TN passed away September 24, 2024. He was born October 10, 1951, in Madison, TN to the late Julian Bridges Sr. and Anna Louise Baker.
Larry is survived by loving wife of 47 years, Carla Baker; daughters Amanda (Jamie) Nickens and Ashley Baker; grandson, Cameron Nickens; granddaughter, Scarlett Howard; brothers, James Baker and JB (Carylon) Baker; sister, Anita Holt along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Larry attended Litton High School and graduated in 1969 staying very close to his classmates from that year. He then attended Lipscomb obtaining his bachelors in 1972. He has been in the trucking business for his whole career.
He loved being in management in the trucking industry. In his free time, he was an avid golfer and was very good at it. He enjoyed the holidays, especially Thanksgiving and Christmas because of the food and decorations. He introduced Carla to Celtic Thunder music which became her favorite as well along with Elvis. He was never still and was always working or doing something.
His favorite past time was mowing the yard and washing the cars daily. He loved war movies, westerns and action movies like James Bond due to their guns and loudness. He loved being on a boat and his favorite meal was steak.
Larry loved his wife exponentially and his family, especially his grandkids. He cherished them wholeheartedly and he was cherished greatly, he will be missed dearly.
