Jimmie Dean Knight, age 80 of Nashville, was born July 16, 1944 in Portland, TN and passed away June 27, 2025 in Nashville, TN. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.
Jimmie proudly served his country in the US Navy and then the US Marine Corps. During his time in the military, he fought in the Vietnam War and received the Purple Heart.
After his military service, Jimmie then began his career as a police officer with Metro Nashville Police Department, retiring after 40 years of service.
Preceded in death by his parents, Adrian Harlan Knight and Dollie Dean Knight, and his older brother, Adrian Thomas Knight. Jimmie is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Dianne Knight; their three children, Christopher “Ty” Knight, Stephen Russell Knight, and Stephanie Diane Knight; siblings, Ernest Knight, Joann Morris, and Janice Elmore; 11 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Jimmie’s life will take place at a later date.
