Jessie W. Maness, Jr., age 86, of Joelton, passed away on Friday, May 23, 2025.
He was preceded in death by his son Ricky Maness.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years Ella May Maness; children Jessie W. (Kathy) Maness III, Carrie Tomey, Vonnie (Randall) Schmidt, and Sam (Nicole) Maness; 14 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and his fur baby “Missy” who held a special place in his heart.
Mr. Maness proudly served in the United States Air Force and retired after 21 years of dedicated service. He held the rank of Master Sergeant and work as an air traffic controller. He served during the Vietnam War between 1968-1969. He also worked for 20 years with the State of Tennessee with HVAC at Nashville Tech.
Visitation will take place at Anderson & Garrett Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 28th from 11 A.M. until the time of Service at 2 P.M. with Lee Paradise and Lucien Cook officiating. https://www.andersonandgarrett.com
Interment follows at Joelton Hills Memory Gardens.
Active Pallbearers are Preston Maness, Peyton Maness, Paxton Maness, Michael Mitchell, Blake Mitchell, and Justin Schmidt.
