Jefferson Cooper Orr, age 64, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and man of faith, he lived a life marked by joy, integrity, and unwavering commitment to those he loved.
Jeff was married to the love of his life, Lori Stockstill Orr, for 38 years, and together they raised four children: Jefferson Palmer Orr (Caroline), Elizabeth Orr Gauntt (Travis), Emily Orr Hegstrom (Tate), and John Cooper Orr (Mikhayla). His greatest joy was being “Dad” to this children and “Pops” to his ten grandchildren—roles he cherished deeply. He is also survived by his parents, Donald Cooper Orr and Eve Loser Orr, as well as his brother, Donald Buchanan Orr (Edee).
Jeff was deeply committed to his vocation as an attorney in Nashville, where he practiced with honor and diligence for over 37 years. After receiving his Juris Doctor degree from Cumberland School of Law, Jeff began his career at Manier, Herod, Hollabaugh & Smith until co-founding Smith Cashion & Orr in 1997, where he practiced for the remainder of his career.
He will be remembered for his humble wisdom, larger-than-life spirit, and unshakable faith in his precious Lord Jesus. Though our hearts are heavy, we celebrate knowing he is now rejoicing in the presence of his Savior.
A memorial of Jeff’s life will be held on May 27th, 2025, at Christ Presbyterian Church, with a visitation from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM and a Celebration of Life service immediately following. https://www.dignitymemorial.com/obituaries/nashville-tn
