Jeannine Smiley Hand, age 87, of Old Hickory, Tennessee, passed away on January 7, 2026. She was born in Ridgetop, Tennessee, on February 26, 1938, the daughter of the late Turner Pat Smiley and Inez Bilbrey Smiley.
Jeannine was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Billy Clayton Hand; her brother, Morris Alan Smiley; and her sister, Patricia Annette Ralph.
She is survived by her sons Clayton Hand and Alan Hand; her brother Leo Bilbrey Smiley (Joyce); her sister-in-law, Betty Smiley; brother-in-law, Kenneth Ralph; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
For over thirty years, Jeannine worked as office manager at the Davidson County Election Commission. Following her retirement, she devoted her time to family and friends. She was an avid reader, going through several Nooks and Kindles over the years. Jeannine was an active supporter of the Ridgetop Historical Society. As a lifelong member of Highland Chapel Union Church, she always looked forward to being with her fellow Sunday School class members. Other enjoyable activities were crossword puzzles, sudoku, and cooking for her family.
A celebration of life service will be held on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Highland Chapel Union Church. https://www.cremcoservices.com
