Jean Teasley Birdwell Obit

Our beloved Jean Birdwell passed away peacefully in Hermitage, TN on June 18th, 2025, after a brief illness. Born on May 5th, 1931, in Nashville, TN, Jean filled our lives with love, joy, and unwavering resilience.

Jean’s heart was always fullest when surrounded by family. She adored Christmas, relishing every moment as we gathered to celebrate. She delighted in driving around to look at holiday lights and having us over to share in the festivities. Seeing the kids and grandkids opening presents and their childlike joy was her greatest thrill.

She had a passion for country music and loved going dancing, her laughter and joy lighting up the room. Summers were spent at the beach, where she loved laying out in the sunshine, listening to the waves, and embracing the tranquility of the ocean.

A meticulous housekeeper, Jean took pride in keeping a spotless home, a testament to her love and care for us. One of our favorite memories is snapping garden-fresh green beans together while watching ‘The Wizard of Oz’ on TV. When her great-grandson arrived, he became the apple of her eye. She cherished every moment with him, her eyes shining with love and pride.

Jean was a longtime member of the Hermitage United Methodist Church and the Cowboy Church in Nashville, where her faith and sense of community were cornerstones of her life. Her determination and resilience were an inspiration to us all, teaching us the true meaning of strength and compassion.

She was kind, compassionate, supportive, generous, and resilient. Jean loved her family with her whole heart and was a good and supportive wife and mom. Her love for music and travel added joy and richness to her life and ours.

We will miss her radiant smile, her comforting presence, and the way she made every moment special. Though she’s no longer with us, her legacy of love lives on in our hearts. We find comfort in the memories we share and the love she gave us so freely.

Those who have passed on before her are parents, Hooper (Elizabeth) Hunt and Odell Moore Hunt, husbands, Austin Teasley and Dwain Birdwell, children, Donna Shull and Kevin Teasley, stepdaughter, Connie Dunn, and brother, Terry Hunt.
