Jane Yarbrough Vukelich, age 95, was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She entered into eternal peace on November 23, 2021, while surrounded by her loving family.
She is survived by her daughter, Cia Vukelich Ashworth, and husband, Doug; grandson, Michael Douglas Ashworth and wife, Amber; great-grandson, Ethan Michael Ashworth; granddaughter, Lauren Laine Ashworth; son, Frank Michael Vukelich; grandsons, John Michael Vukelich and Frank Michael Vukelich, Jr. She also leaves a sister-in-law, Betty Moorehead Yarbrough, and many cherished nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Vukelich, and siblings, William Louis Yarbrough, Mary Yarbrough Jones, and John Thomas Yarbrough.
Mrs. Vukelich was born in Winchester, TN on January 19, 1926 to the late William Franklin and Johnnie Ruth Yarbrough. She received a Bachelor’s Degree from Tennessee Technological University and a Master’s Degree from Tennessee State University.
Mrs. Vukelich worked in education for over 40 years enhancing children’s lives. She spent most of her teaching career at Glencliff Elementary and Cole Elementary in Nashville, TN. After her retirement, Mrs. Vukelich continued her connection with teachers and children by volunteering at Granbery Elementary School. While educating children gave her great joy, making memories with loved ones and spending time with her grandchildren was her greatest joy.
A graveside service will be held at 11 o’clock on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at Franklin Memorial Gardens, Winchester, TN.
