James “Carney” Taylor, 72, of Madison, TN passed away Saturday, March 8, 2025. He was a dedicated husband, father of two and grandfather of seven. He was married to the love of his life, Kathy Taylor, for 52 years. He was an avid boater and fisherman, loved riding his motorcycles and could build or repair anything. He was a long time forman for McCann Steel, C&D Safety Company and spent 22 years as an operator at Ergon, Inc. He’ll be remembered as a “fishin’ fool” while he’s “gone fishin’”.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Neva Jean Taylor, four brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his wife Kathy Taylor, sons James “Marty” Taylor (Richelle) of Gallatin, TN and Phillip Taylor (Davin) of Springfield, TN, grandsons Noah Horst and Micah Horst, granddaughters Hannah Horst, Rebekah Horst, Katie Taylor Lass, Camryn Taylor and Annaston Taylor, and chosen family member Mary Lass.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Phillips-Robinson Funeral Home.
