Herman Wayne DePriest, a beloved church organist, devoted family man, and music enthusiast, passed away on April 8, 2025, in Nashville, Tennessee. Born on September 8, 1954, in Clarksville, Tennessee, Herman’s life was characterized by his deep love for God, his family, and the art of music.

Herman’s educational journey took him to Austin Peay, where he honed his musical talents, ultimately leading him to become a cherished organist at Faith Lutheran Church. His passion for music was evident in every note he played, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those who had the privilege of listening to him.

A dedicated family man, Herman is survived by his loving mother, Rebecca McGuffey, as well as his three adoring children: Geoffrey DePriest, Jason DePriest, and daughter Julie Clark, who is married to Eddy Clark. He takes great pride in his role as a grandfather to his treasured grandchildren, Haley Clark and William E. Clark IV.

Herman was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Diane DePriest, whose memory continues to be cherished by all who knew them.

As a man who cherished both faith and family, Herman Wayne DePriest will be remembered for his unwavering devotion and the joy he brought to every aspect of life. His legacy lives on through the love he inspired in his family and the music that filled the hearts of many throughout his life.
