Harry-Lee-Patterson

Harry Lee Patterson, beloved husband, Daddy, Papa, and Great-grandpa, went to be with his Savior on Monday, April 27, 2025, at the young age of 98.

Mr. Patterson was born November 28, 1926, in Rome, Georgia. After high school, Mr. Patterson served in both the Marine Corps and the Navy. He played on each branch’s respective football teams. After his service, he studied Accounting at the University of Georgia before going to work for General Electric for 34 years.

His love of football continued well after his playing days ended. Mr. Patterson spent years refereeing high school games, only stepping away when it was time to trade his whistle for a Bulldog sweatshirt and cheer on his beloved Georgia Bulldogs from home.

On August 21, 1948, Mr. Patterson married the love of his life, Dorothy Lee Dawson. This August would have marked their 77th wedding anniversary. They share two daughters, Diana (George Barry) and Janet (Whit Adamson).

A passionate traveler, Mr. Patterson explored the world and delighted in sharing that passion with his family—especially his four granddaughters: Beth (John Gauthier), Kellie (Patrick Bobo), Abby (Devon Sanders), and Lillian. Three of his granddaughters passed that love of travel to their own children, Mr. Patterson’s great-grandchildren. They include Clark, Addison, and Allie Bobo; Jack Gauthier; and Caroline, Blair, and Stetson Sanders.

Since 1969, Mr. Patterson was an active member of First Baptist Church Hendersonville and never missed a day of reading his Bible. Mr. Patterson personified the example set forth in Psalm 78 by passing on his faith to his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Graveside service will be held at Hermitage Memorial Gardens on Saturday at 1:00pm with Bro Jeff Lake and George Barry officiating. Visitation to follow from 2:00 pm till 4:00 pm at Hermitage Funeral Home. https://www.dignitymemorial.com/obituaries/old-hickory-tn
