George Lawrence Heimbach Jr. Obit

George Lawrence Heimbach, Jr. of Nashville, Tenn departed this life on June 11, 2025, at the age of 84. He was born on January 11, 1939, in Cincinnati, Ohio. After graduating Father Ryan High School, he entered the U.S. Air Force. And upon his discharge in September 1963, he began a career with the Tennessee State Labor Council, AFLCIO where he was committed to the labor movement until retirement after fifty years.

A faithful member of St. Edward Catholic Church, he was actively involved in Parish activities, becoming a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council No. 9586, attaining a fourth-degree status, aka The Patriotic Degree that emphasizes patriotism and active Catholic citizenship.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George L. Heimbach, Sr. and Luetta Heimbach; his brother, Robert Haumann Heimbach; and his sister, Ella Jane Kaplan, St. Charles.

He is survived by his wife, Saundria K. Sims Heimbach; his children; son, George Lawrence Heimbach, III; daughter, Christine Amelia Heimbach; stepson, Jeffrey Wayne Clark (Sandy); grandchildren, Ryan, Natalie, (Omar Jarrar) Jeffrey Wayne Clark Jr. (Sonya), Nathan (Stephanie); great grandchildren, Kinsley, Arya, Brooke, Summer; and brother, Richard Stephen Heimbach.

Friends and family are invited to honor his memory at Graveside Services with Military Honors at Harpeth Hills Cemetery, Nashville TN on Monday, June 16, 2025, at 11:00 a.m.
