Gale Simpson Deal, age 87, died Monday November 24 th, 2025, in Nashville, TN. She is survived by her husband, Charles Deal; children, Cory Deal and Tracy Deal Matthews (Rob); grandchildren, Rachel Deal Hoak (Andrew), Amy Deal Sterna, and Henry Matthews; as well as many cherished great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Hubert and Lorene Simpson, sister, Emilie Simpson, and her son, Eric Deal.
Born and raised in Nashville, Gale graduated from David Lipscomb High School and had a long career with Metro Nashville Public Schools and Nashville Public Television. She and Charles lived for many years in Hendersonville, TN, before retiring to their dream home on Center Hill Lake.
Gale loved animals and volunteered at the Putnam County Animal Shelter. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to an animal shelter of your choice, or to Alive Hospice of Nashville.
A memorial service to honor her life will be held on Sunday, December 14 th, at City Church of East Nashville, located at 805 Woodland Street, Nashville TN, 37206. Family will receive visitors at 2:00pm, with a service following at 2:30pm, all at the church.
