It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Gail MacDougall Johnson, a cherished member of her family, who left this world unexpectedly on Saturday, November 23, 2024, in Sevierville, Tennessee.

Born on March 10, 1948, in Port Huron, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth MacDougall and Lucille Macevoy MacDougall.

Gail enjoyed a distinguished career as an accountant, where her meticulous nature and dedication were widely recognized. Beyond her professional accomplishments, she was known for her infectious positivity and fun-loving spirit. Gail had an extraordinary ability to appreciate the little things in life, bringing joy and warmth to everyone she encountered. Her determination and forgiving nature were qualities that endeared her to many and left a lasting impression.

Throughout her life, Gail cultivated a variety of passions. She loved going on cruises, where she created beautiful memories with friends and family. Her love for sewing showed in the many thoughtful gifts she made for others, while her garden blossomed under her attentive care, reflecting her nurturing character. Cooking was another cherished pastime, where she delighted in sharing meals with loved ones, creating not just food but cherished moments around the table.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Lynn Lerner.

Gail leaves behind a loving family who will miss her deeply. She is survived by her devoted husband of 40 years, Charles Johnson; her sons, Adam (Megan) Forgacs and James Charles (Vicky) Forgacs III; her brother, Hugh (Barbara) MacDougall; her sister-in-law, Darlene Domen; her stepchildren, Kevin Johnson and Charles Johnson; her grandson, Liam Forgacs; and her step-grandchildren, Keely Johnson and Nick Johnson.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Goodlettsville, TN. This will be followed by a memorial service at the same location from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. https://www.coleandgarrett.com

Gail’s legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will continue to inspire all those who were fortunate enough to know her. While her physical presence will be greatly missed, her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends.
