Frances Ann (McQuain) Burgess, 80 of Nashville, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, August 29, 2022.

She was born to Ina McQuain in Marfrance, West Virginia on September 2, 1941.

Frances’ favorite place to be was at home in the mountains of West Virginia. In her earlier days, she worked as a bookkeeper. She was a gifted writer and enjoyed writing poetry. Frances used to embroider and sew making clothes for her children. She also enjoyed listening to and singing gospel music with her family. Frances was a member of Richland Freewill Baptist Church.

In addition to her mom, Frances was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Don; son, Ken; and daughter, Jennifer.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving children Donald Burgess and Cathy Burgess Gonzalez; grandchildren, Randall (Tabitha) Lewis, Bryan (Amanda) Nicholson, Bart J Sims, and Steven Tyler Nicholson; great-grandchildren, James Jones, Alliyah Bennett, Mackenzie Lewis, Collin Lewis, Dixie Nicholson, Bryan Nicholson, Jr., and RJ Lewis; siblings, Lula Mae (Conley) Lake, Fred (Carol) McQuain, Glayds (Frank) Bailey, Frank (Linda, deceased) McQuain, Wilma (Ron, deceased) Wimer, Hope (Delmas) Westfall, Faith (Louis) Burge, Lundy (Carol, deceased) McQuain, and David (Linda) McQuain.

The family will receive friends and family on Thursday, September 8, 2022, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at West Harpeth Funeral Home located at 6962 Charlotte Pike in Nashville. Additional visitation will be held on Friday, September 9, 2022, from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM. A Celebration of Life with Pastor Stanley Outlaw officiating will begin at 10:00 AM in the chapel. Following the service, Frances will be laid to rest next to her husband, Don, in the Howard Cemetery in Cookeville, TN. https://www.westharpethfh.com
