Felix E. Montgomery, 91, retired pastoral consultant at Lifeway Christian Resources, died Monday, February 23, 2026, at Woodcrest at Blakeford in Nashville, TN. He was born May 14, 1934, in Birmingham, AL. He was the son of the late Felix E. Brown and Ann Brown Montgomery.
Felix graduated from Birmingham-Southern College and received his Masters of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville, KY. He did post graduate studies at Goethe Institute, Germany, and Mansfield College, Oxford University.
Felix pastored churches in Arkansas, Kentucky, and Alabama prior to serving as a pastoral consultant in the Church Administration Department at Lifeway, retiring after 20 years of service. He was a member of the Nashville Chapter of American Guild of Organists, where he served as chaplain for several years. At Immanuel Baptist Church, he served as a choir member, Sunday School teacher, and deacon.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Ennis Montgomery of Franklin, TN, his brother, Hayden Montgomery (Carol) of Daphne, Alabama, and nephew William (Stephanie) of Fairhope, AL.
A Memorial Service will be conducted Sunday, March 15, 2026, at Immanuel Baptist Church, 222 Belle Meade Blvd., Nashville, TN 37205 at 2:00 p.m. with visitation at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be in the Immanuel Baptist Church columbarium.
