Edyth Duke Burnett was born on May 10, 1948 and passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, she was 76 years old.

She is survived by her husband, Phillip R. Burnett; daughter, Brandy Jill Burnett; and son, Jeffery Todd Burnett. Preceded in death by her father, Braxton Morgan Duke, former Metro Nashville Assistant Chief of Police; mother Janie Donoho Duke of The Donoho Hotel in Red Boiling Springs; and her sisters Donna Duke McClurkan and Debra Duke Cayce.

Starting life on White Avenue in Berry Hill, Edyth was full of adventure and fun. Her love of the Melrose Theater was like no other and filled her days & nights with movies of glamour, laughter and Hollywood romance. Edyth was a proud graduate of West High School Class of 66 Blue Jays…West Is The Best! Married for 57 years to her soul mate, Prince Phillip, they shared the love of old movies, flea markets and years & years of laughter. Their love had no bounds and they grew together, through the roller coaster of life, as an unbreakable team.

She loved her children, Brandy & Jeff fiercely and said being a mother was one of her best honors. She was the Paragon Mills neighborhood 2nd Mother to so many…providing the kids fun, love & support when needed. Creative in so many ways, she created beautiful items by hand, shared words in an elegant way, stylish in her dress and could design a room with only the special decor touches that she had. Edyth never met a stranger, touched the lives of so many and could work the room like no other.

Her quick wit and kindness meant alot to so many and had a lasting impact to all. Edyth Anne was truly one of a kind, an unforgettable woman, whose vibrant spirit will continue on around us.

Edyth loved a good party so a Celebration of Life Ceremony will take place at a later date. https://www.dignitymemorial.com/obituaries/nashville-tn
