With hearts full of love, we remember Dorothy, who passed away peacefully on May 24th, 2025, at her home in Nashville, Tennessee.
Born on February 10th, 1943, in Nashville, Dorothy filled our lives with kindness and compassion. She was the devoted mother to her daughter Stephanie Davenport, and sons Billy and Ronald Ladd and her beloved dog, Luna.
She was a loving sister to Brenda Biggs. Dorothy’s love also extends to her late sons, Kenny and ‘Bubba’ Ladd, whose memories she cherished dearly. She shared a special bond with her sisters Shirley Hatfield and Brenda Biggs and late sisters, Linda Whitley, Doris Broadway, and Juanita Chastain, creating cherished moments throughout their lives. She was also the sister to late brothers Popeye, Pete, and Jackie Woodard.
Dorothy had a heart of gold, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. She was a compassionate and generous woman who always loved to help people. Her kind, supportive, and empathetic nature made her a pillar of strength for our family. Her compassion knew no bounds, and her generosity was felt by all who knew her.
She had a passion for arts and crafts, often spending her days immersed in creative projects. She loved making her own decorations for Halloween and Christmas, and her talent was recognized when she won two consecutive competitions at her apartment complex. She took so much joy and pride in her creations, bringing festive cheer to everyone around her.
Dorothy cherished the simple pleasures of life, from enjoying outdoor activities to whipping up delicious meals in the kitchen. Cooking was among her favorite pastimes, and she loved sharing these moments with her family.
Her generous spirit and loving nature will forever be remembered. We will miss her dearly but find comfort in knowing she is reunited with our beloved Kenny and ‘Bubba’. Until we meet again, we will hold her memory close in our hearts.
