Donald F. Wood, age 92 originally from Rutherford, County, Tennessee passed away at home in Franklin, Tennessee of natural causes on February 9, 2025.
Born January 26, 1933, he graduated from Forrest High School, Chapel Hill TN in 1953.
He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1953 and served in the Military Police until 1955 then completing his time in the Reserve until granted an Honorable Discharge in 1961. He was a long-time employee of Cain-Sloan Department Store.
He is survived in death by his loving wife of 71 years, Nancy O. Wood, (Franklin), daughter Ashley W. (Doug) Norfleet of Pulaski, Tennessee, and son Donald Kevin (Lynn) Wood of Nashville, Tennessee. Grandsons Jaron Norfleet (Kimberly) of Huntsville, Alabama, Jacob Norfleet (Ameilia) of Springhill, Tennessee, Jurel Elder (Rebecca) of Mt. Juliet, and granddaughter, Cassie Clayton of Nashville, Tennessee. Three great-grandchildren, Savannah, Sutton, and Gunnar.
He is preceded in death by infant daughter Donna Yvette.
