Don Jerome Waggoner, age 88, of Nashville, TN, passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2024.
Don was born on May 31, 1936, in Nashville to Frank and Tommie Bell Madox Waggoner.
A lifelong resident of Nashville, Don attended Goodlettsville High School and went on to work for Yellow Freight, where he dedicated many years of service.
Don was a man known for his quick wit and love of humor. He had a gift for telling jokes and enjoyed bringing joy to those around him. His passions were varied and deep; he was an avid fan of Alabama football, always following the games and cheering on his team. Don was also a devoted model car collector, with a special interest in restoring a 1937 Ford, and a lifelong enthusiast of model trains. These hobbies brought him great joy and satisfaction, and he could often be found immersed in his collections.
Don leaves behind his children: Sheryl Parker, Darrel Waggoner, Brian Waggoner, and John Waggoner, as well as his ex-wife, Sandra Waggoner. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Tommie Bell Waggoner.
A visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday, January 16, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 660 Thompson Ln, Nashville, TN 37204, followed by a funeral service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, reception to follow from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. https://www.dignitymemorial.com/obituaries/nashville-tn
Don will be remembered for his infectious humor, his love for his family, and his dedication to the hobbies that brought him joy throughout his life. He will be dearly missed.
