Joliet, Illinois native, Mr. Don Coldwater Jr. of the Defeated Creek Community was pronounced deceased on Thursday afternoon May 15, 2025 at 4:49 p.m. at the TriStar Centennial Medical Center in Nashville at the age of 64 after suffering an apparent heart attack at his Harris Hollow Road home on Tuesday morning May 13th. He was airlifted from Highpoint Health – Riverview in Carthage and was admitted in Nashville with C.P. R. in progress at 1:53 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.
In keeping with family traditions, he will be cremated at the Cumberland Family Services in Algood following the family making cremation arrangements at the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home on Friday afternoon at 12 noon.
No memorial services are planned in Carthage but the family will have a Celebration of Life in Illinois with the date and time to be set.
He was one of two children, a son and a daughter of the late Donald Edward Coldwater Sr. who died in Sevier County on June 29, 2024 at the age of 85 and Edna Mae Hood Coldwater who died in Manhattan, Illinois on December 6, 2011 at the age of 73 and was born Donald Edward Coldwater Jr. in Will County, Illinois on December 20, 1960. His parents were wed July 5, 1956.
Mr. Coldwater was a 1978 graduate of Joliet East High School in Joliet, Illinois.
He was united in marriage in Sevier County on July 5, 2008 to the former Gina Marie Hobson.
On September 1, 2024 Don and Gina relocated from Manhattan, Illinois to the Harris Hollow farm they had purchased.
Mr. Coldwater retired in 2024 as a service adjuster for the Crash Champion Auto Body Shop in Crestwood, Illinois.
Surviving in addition to his wife of nearly seventeen years are their eight children, Chad Coldwater and wife Lisa of Morris ILL, Anthony Coldwater and wife Cahryssa of Manteno, ILL, Shane Coldwater and wife Rachel of Beecher, ILL, Drew Coldwater and wife Michelle of the Defeated Creek Community, Jonathan Coldwater and wife Alicia of Diamond, ILL, Kayla Lindgren and husband Eric of Manteno, ILL, Julianne Hobson and fiancée Thomas of Manhattan, ILL, Jeffery Sandowski of Elwood, ILL; sister, Vicki Coldwater of Seymour, Tennessee; twelve grandchildren.
