Deena Kaye Roark Ryan passed away at 11:40 p.m. on Friday, May 30 following a 15-month battle with cancer. Born in Nashville, TN to the late Billy Ray Roark and Edna (Morris) Roark, she is also preceded in death by her brother David Earl Roark, her niece Stacey Roark, and nephew Stephen Roark.

She is survived by her loving husband of 29 years, Paul Todd Ryan; children Callie Rae Ryan and Peyton Philip Townley; loving siblings Dennis Roark (LeighAnn) and Danny Roark (Linda); nieces and nephews Cory, Chasen, Calan, Mackenzie Roark, Cassie Ewing and Stephanie Finol; eleven great nieces and nephews; and many other beloved extended family and life-long friends.

Deena was a graduate of Madison High School (class of 1982) She was a pep club spirit booster and cheerleader for varsity sports and was a part of the homecoming court. She was voted Best Dressed in her Senior Superlatives and was the proverbial party planner. She was a top 10 honor student and went on to attend MTSU after high school. She was kind, compassionate, loyal, and a testament to true strength.

Growing up as the baby of the family with three brothers, she could always hold her own. Deena never met a stranger and was known for her quick wit and charismatic personality. Her hobbies included spending time with her family, shopping, going on beach vacations, and dancing. She was always the last one on the dance floor.

Deena loved Jesus with all of her heart. Her family and friends were her world, and she exemplified what it means to “show up” for each and every one of them. Deena was one of a kind to all who she crossed paths with. She had a heart of gold, and her unforgettable spirit will live on forever. She was the best wife, mother, aunt, sister, and friend – and there will never be another quite like her.

Visitation for Deena Ryan will be held on Friday, June 13 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and again on June 14 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., with a service to begin at 3 p.m. and end around 4 p.m. at Long Hollow Baptist church in Hendersonville, TN. https://www.dignitymemorial.com/obituaries/goodlettsville-tn
