David C. "Bud" Muckle Sr. Obit

David C. “Bud” Muckle, Sr. was born on April 20, 1930, in Chicago, Illinois and died at age 94 on March 11, 2025. David graduated from Calumet High School in Chicago in June 1948. Shortly thereafter, David Muckle, Sr. served his country in the United States Air Force from 1951 – 1955. It was during the last stages of his military service that David met the love of his life, Ann Catherine Johnson. On September 20, 1955, David and Ann were married in Chattanooga, Tennessee. They were happily married for 51 years prior to Ann’s death on November 3, 2006. David spent the majority of his professional life as a successful store manager in the grocery business. David’s love for the Lord was evident by his very active involvement in his church throughout his life. David served as a Eucharistic Minister during the latter years of his life. Finally, David was always actively involved with his family and was a loving father and grandfather during his lengthy life. He will be missed greatly by many who have been blessed to know him.

Preceded in death by wife, Anne Muckle; and daughter, Betty Cassell. Survived by daughters, Mary (Trip) Bennett, Terry (Jeff) Campbell, Diane (Keith) Middleton and Lisa Ford; son, David Charles (Tina) Muckle, Jr.; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and sister Marilyn Tucker.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Woodbine Funeral Home, Hickory Chapel, 5852 Nolensville Road. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Joe McMahan on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. (visitation 9:00 – 10:00 a.m.) at Holy Family Catholic Church, 9100 Crockett Road, Brentwood, TN 37027. Interment with Military Honors at Calvary Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be Mark Cavanaugh, Lake Middleton, Josh Turner, Isaac Merritt, Chase Ford and Lucas Mendl.
