Chief Robert “Bobby” Connelly
– Age 87 of Nashville, TN. October 18, 1937 – March 7, 2025.
Bobby loved and was loved by all. He was a faithful member of Covenant Church. He was a beloved member of the Nashville Fire Department for 53 years. He retired as District Chief. He was an avid runner and completed multiple marathons including 2 New York Marathons. Bobby was an original season ticket holder for the Tennessee Titans, and he never missed a game! Bobby was an asset and blessing to the City of Nashville.
He is survived by his wife of 11 years, Wanda Connelly; children, Mike (Katy) Connelly, Cathy and Connie (Tim) Moyers; grandchildren, Curt, Sadie, Katie, Reese, Georgia, Kristina, Tanner and Cameron; great-grandchild, Mary Elizabeth; sister, Carolyn Connelly Coleman; and stepchildren, Brian Billington and Kim (Todd) Pantall.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Gail Connelly; parents, John and Thelma Connelly; and brothers, John, Herb and Donald.
Funeral services will be conducted by Greg Skipper on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Judson Baptist Church, 4900 Franklin Road, Nashville, TN 37220. Interment Mount Olivet Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be the Nashville Fire Department.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, from 1:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Woodbine Funeral Home, Hickory Chapel, 5852 Nolensville Road and on Thursday, March 13, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
