Chester “Buddy” Carroll Whitaker entered into eternal rest on April 23rd, 2025, at the age of 90 years old.

He was born to parents, James and Allie Price Whitaker, in Lawrence County, Tennessee, on December 20th, 1934.

Chester was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He became President of Tennessee Foundry and Machine Company where he was employed from 1958 to 1985. Later in life he owned an electrical and plumbing supplies company.

Chester was a proud veteran of the US Air Force, serving during the Korean War. He was a member of Dickerson Road Baptist Church. Chester enjoyed the outdoors, farming, working in his garden, country music, a good western movie and Nascar. When you were with him, there was never a dull moment. Chester was one of a kind and will be sorely missed.

Chester is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert Lewis Whitaker, James Calvin Whitaker, Jackie Whitaker; and sister, Nettie Campbell.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Jean (Shubert) Whitaker; children, Theresa Whitaker Parsley and Gary (Susie Allen) Whitaker; grandson, Brandon (Ashley) Parsley; great-grandson, Bowen Parsley; sisters, Louise Mashburn, Sarah Holder, Lola Grey, Linda Mitchell; and numerous nieces and nephews and special friends.

A visitation will be held for Chester on Tuesday, April 29th, 2025, from 10-12PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home with a service following at 12PM. Burial to follow. https://www.dignitymemorial.com/obituaries/goodlettsville-tn
