Charles William Northington passed on December 27, 2025. He was born October 28, 1947 in Adams, Tennessee to Virginia Northington and William Northington. Both parents and sister, Sandra Brown preceded him in death.
Charles attended Star of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Adams, Tennessee. He was a graduate of Bransford High School in Springfield, Tennessee. At the age of seventeen and nine days after graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served five years of active duty.
After leaving the Air Force, he joined the Tennessee Air National Guard and served over 30 years and was promoted to Senior Master Sergeant. During his military career, he traveled to many places including Germany, Italy, England, Spain and more.
He was employed by the United States Postal Service where he was promoted in 1993 to Postmaster in Cumberland Furnace, Tennessee where he eventually retired in 2010.
Charles loved to travel, took pride in his family, was an avid reader and stayed abreast of world news, current events and politics. During his spare time and as a hobby, he constructed and flew model planes. He was a member of the Academy of Model Aeronautics. Charles is survived by daughter, Stephanie Northington; sisters, Lena (Harold) Northington and Grace (Pastor Johnnie) Clemmons as well as Great Nieces and Nephews, Cousins and many other relatives and friends who will deeply miss and cherish his memory.
