Carole Gennett Young of Nashville passed away on Friday, October 4, 2024, after a courageous fight against complications of dementia.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, James M. Young, Sr.; daughter, Leigh Anne Young; daughter-in-law Michele Young; grandchildren Abigail Quinones, James Robert Sleighter, Emily Sleighter, Jacob Young and Andrew Young, as well as great-grandchildren Nico and Emma Quinones. She is also survived by her sister, Adaline Halley; brother David Gennett and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, James M. Young, Jr.
Born in Richmond, Ind., Carole was raised in Nashville, where she graduated from Hillsboro High School and later attended Belmont College, now Belmont University.
A graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m., Thursday, October 10, 2024, at Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery located at 7931 McCrory Lane, Nashville, TN 37221.
