Carlotta Marie Blivens, a beautiful, intelligent, and charismatic woman, was born on February 11, 1953, in Nashville, Tennessee, to Pearlie Mai Hammonds and the late William Blivens. On October 6, 2025, Carlotta departed this life peacefully, surrounded by her loving family.

Education and Career

Carlotta was educated in the Metro Nashville Public Schools. Following her passion for helping others, she attended Meharry Hubbard Hospital School of Nursing, graduating in 1984. For over 40 years, Carlotta faithfully served in the medical field, working in various hospitals, clinics, and health agencies. Her gentle spirit, quick wit, and steadfast compassion made her beloved by patients and coworkers alike.

Faith and Ministry

A devoted woman of faith, Carlotta was a faithful member of Walking in Faith International Worship Center for over 20 years, under the leadership of Bishop Jewell Granberry. She joyfully served as a choir member, Armor Bearer to the Bishop, and a committed member of the Changeable Women’s Ministry. Her dedication and calling led her to become a licensed minister, where she continued to serve God’s people with grace, humility, and unwavering devotion.

Family and Legacy

Carlotta’s greatest pride and joy was her family. She leaves to cherish her loving memory:

  • Mother: Pearlie Hammonds
  • Her children: Annette Butler (Jerome), Michael Blivens (Resha), and Stacy Blivens
  • Grandchildren: Chace Whitaker (Michaela), Devin Whitaker, Enya Triolo, Cameron Blivens, Eric Triolo, and Christian Blivens
  • Great-grandchildren: Jayla Whitaker and Desmond Nance Jr.
  • Sisters: Brendolyn Hunt (John), Teresa Blivens, and Jessica Green (Robert)
  • Preceded in death by her beloved siblings Vanessa D. Blivens and Sancia R. Blivens, and brother-in-law Robert Green
  • A dear aunt: Sara Kelly, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends

Carlotta’s love for her family was boundless. She was their strength, comfort, and guiding light, a woman whose laughter filled rooms and whose wisdom shaped generations.

Her Spirit Lives On

Carlotta will always be remembered for her beautiful spirit, sharp mind, and magnetic charisma. She lived her life as a reflection of God’s love, faithful in service, generous in heart, and joyful in spirit. Her legacy will live on through the lives she touched, the songs she sang, and the love she so freely gave.
