It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Brian Edward Mays, age 60, of Nashville, Tennessee, who passed away on July 16, 2026.
Brian was born on November 20, 1965, in Nashville, Tennessee, to Barbara Travis Mays and the late Neely Edward Mays. He graduated from Hillwood High School before proudly serving his country in the United States Army, receiving an honorable discharge for his service.
Brian was a devoted husband to his wife, Denise, and a loving father to Andrea, Justin, and Sarah. He cherished his mother Barbara and sister Kelly. He also loved his stepdaughter, Ashley, and her children Florence and George.
Brian had a lifelong love of sports and could often be found cheering on the Atlanta Braves or watching NASCAR races while enjoying hot chicken. He had a deep appreciation for classic rock and roll music, which provided the soundtrack to many happy moments throughout his life. One of his favorite hobbies was amateur (ham) radio, where he enjoyed connecting with people from around the world and building friendships across great distances.
Those who knew Brian will remember his friendly spirit and sense of humor.
Brian is survived by his wife, Denise Mays; his mother, Barbara Mays; children, Andrea Mays, Justin Mays, and Sarah Mays; stepdaughter, Ashley (David) Abesamra and her children Florence and George; sister Kelly (Keith) Bolton and nephew Charlie. He was preceded in death by his father, Neely Edward Mays.
