Bobby was a simple man focused on his family. Spending every weekend, he could in Alabama with his family, his cousins were brothers to him. He taught his children early the importance of family. Annual trips to Florida to visit his parents and siblings were called vacations, but they were family reunions that he truly treasured. Weekly dinners held at his home where all his kids, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren would attend were some of his favorite times in life. Spending time with family and making memories may have been his favorite pastime in life.

A self taught mechanic, Bobby used his abilities to fix anything put in front of him to provide for his family. He worked many years at a gas station on Lebanon Pike repairing semi trucks. During this time, he gained his nickname Whiskey and met many of the lifetime friends he had.

His mechanic skills allowed him the opportunity to start his own business which was a proud achievement for him and all his family. As co-owner of Nashville Lift Truck Sales & Service on Hermitage Avenue, he was able to teach his skills to employees and gave many people second chances in their lives. Some of his grandchildren were able to be employed and learn skills that allowed them to be successful in their futures as well.

Even though the business was successful, Bobby decided the time came to retire and enjoy the family time he so desired even more. Retiring meant he could load up the RV, head out and camp at our local parks for weeks at a time. Enjoying the peace and quiet, he would sit and read by the campfire. He enjoyed reading current events, history, and was a self educated man because of these.

If he wasn’t camping, you might find him and some of our family on a local lake fishing in the boat or jugging. He was an avid outdoorsman, he loved to be outside and taught his kids and grandkids to enjoy the same.

He lived his life simple: Family, Morals, Honesty, and Loyalty. A loyal friend to many, an honest businessman, and a hero to his family. He will be dearly missed by his loving family, friends and all that had the opportunity to know him.

There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends for Bobby on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Hermitage Funeral Home, 535 Shute Ln, Old Hickory, TN 37138 with his Celebration of Life service beginning at 2:00 PM in the Chapel.
