Billy Ray Jones, age 67 of Hermitage, Tennessee passed away on Thursday, March 30, 2023.
Billy Ray Jones was an amazing man who will be dearly missed by friends and family. If you knew Billy, you knew he could put a smile on anyone’s face.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Dorothy Jones.
He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Darlinda Jones; children, Jordan (Mollie) Jones and Matthew Miller; brother, Douglas (Lucy) Jones, beloved in-laws Faye and Bobby Hawks, nephews, Dewayne (Liz) Jones, Jody (Kimberlee) Jones, Scott (Rachel) Connelly, nieces Kristen (Zach) Dabbs, Allison (Mike) Deskins, one great niece, ten great nephews and many friends.
Billy loved Jesus and was a lifetime member of Saturn Drive Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He was an avid sports enthusiast, a lifetime Vandy fan and a supporter of the TN Titans. He retired from the railroad after almost four decades of service and enjoyed golfing, camping, boating and the great outdoors.
A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, April 7, 2023 at 12:00 pm at the Saturn Drive Baptist Church, 1212 Saturn Drive, Nashville, Tennessee 37217 with Brother Joseph Coleman officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held at the church on Thursday, April 6, 2023 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm as well on Friday from 11:00 am until the time of service at 12:00 pm.
Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet has been entrusted with the care of Mr. Jones.
