Betty Jane (“Becky”) Polgardy of Phillipsburg, NJ and Nashville, TN passed away on Saturday, December 25, 2021 at the age of 74.
Betty was born on April 10, 1947 in Easton, PA to Samuel S. Ruggiero and Sara (Nicrone) Ruggiero Cruts. She graduated from Phillipsburg High School in 1965 with an emphasis in Commercial Secretarial studies, and enjoyed working for many years as a legal secretary throughout the Greater Lehigh Valley. Her great passions were her faith and family. She moved to Nashville in 2006 to be closer to her grandchildren.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Sara. She is survived by her sisters, Grace Ahearn of Phillipsburg, NJ and Mary Anne Mullener of Toms River, NJ; her brother Samuel Ruggiero of Easton, PA; her children Frederick (Sue) Polgardy of Colorado Springs, CO and Samantha (Kyle) Jones of Hendersonville, TN; her grandchildren Jonathan and Lily Polgardy, Ethan and Fiona Mulder, and Eden Jones; her nieces Jaqueline Snyder, Kristine Ahearn, and Cathy Mullener; and her nephew Larry Mullener.
A private service will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at 10 o’clock a.m. at Hendersonville Memory Gardens. Donations in her name may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675-8516 (www.woundedwarriorproject.org).
