Betty Haynes Obit

Betty Haynes, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was a devoted woman of faith, a passionate educator, and a cherished friend to many.

Betty spent many years shaping young minds as an elementary school teacher at Radnor Elementary, where her kindness and dedication left a lasting impression on her students. A lifelong learner and servant of her community, she also taught Sunday School and was a proud member of the Judson Choir, where she shared her love of music and fellowship.

Following her retirement from Bell South, Betty embraced a new chapter as a travel agent, helping others create meaningful memories around the world. Her zest for life, compassion, and unwavering love for her family were evident in everything she did.

Betty’s legacy lives on in the hearts of her loved ones, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Preceded in death by husband, Denny “Mr. Denny” Haynes. Survived by daughter, Shelley (Jim) Adcock; son, Mike (Tosha) Haynes; grandchildren, Christian Haynes, Nikko Wauford, Shelbi (David) James, Kenzie Haynes and Abigail Haynes; and great-grandson, Gunner Wauford.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. (visitation 12:00 -2:00 p.m.) at Woodbine Funeral Home, Hickory Chapel, 5852 Nolensville Road by Dr. Ernest Standerfer. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as Pallbearers.
