Bettina H. Ault, age 69, passed away November 12, 2024. Preceded in death by her parents, John Franklin Ault and Margaret Harman Ault. She is survived by her sister, Johanna Trotter (Phil), and a long time companion, Harland Alpaugh.
Dr. Ault was an extraordinary physician and a beloved member of our community. Her compassionate nature and remarkable ability to connect with her patients were truly inspiring. Dr. Ault was passionate about inspiring the next generation of pediatric nephrologists. She encouraged many residents at Memphis to attend Camp Okawehna (camp for children with ESRD and transplants) and to pursue a career in pediatric nephrology, leaving a lasting impact on countless trainees.
Beyond her dedication to patient care, Dr. Ault was a woman of many interests. She was an avid traveler and a passionate plant enthusiast, recently publishing an article for the TN Native Plant Society. Her knowledge of plants was extensive, and she was always eager to share her expertise, particularly at Camp O where she could identify every plant on the grounds.
She loved to play pranks and was always a good sport when the tables were turned. Her ability to laugh at herself and to find joy in the simple things made her a beloved figure among her colleagues and friends.
