Becky Schwender Griffith of Nashville passed away peacefully at home on May 11, 2025, surrounded by her family, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on August 1, 1938, in Huntington, West Virginia, Becky grew up in Charleston, W. Va. She attended Marshall University where she formed lifelong friendships with members of Pi Sigma Kappa Sorority. Becky was a devoted mother, grandmother and a friend to many.
She is pre-deceased by her husband A. Walker Griffith, Jr. and her parents Mildred and Harry Ray Schewender, brothers Harry and Johnny and her grandson, Miller Nuesse.
She is survived by her two daughters Stephanie Capito Bryant of Watkinsville, GA, Ashby Capito of Vail, CO and grandson, Dickson Nuesse of Steamboat, CO and her two beloved dogs, Lola and Cooper.
Becky loved tending her patio garden, playing bridge and mahjong, painting, and discussing current events. Her strength and perseverance touched everyone who knew her.
