Barbara Jean Tidwell – Age 82 of Antioch, TN passed from this life on Monday, July 6, 2026, after a little over 61 years since marrying the love of her life, Larry. She is survived by her husband, Larry; son, Barry (Bippy) Tidwell; grandchildren, Dannis Reed (Caleb), Bella, Chris (Angelika) and Heather; sisters, Mary Mitchell (Jerry) and Ellen Creesey (Raymond); sister-in-law, Billie Jean Tidwell; brother-in-law, Eddie Tidwell (Ruth); 6 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. She is also survived by her good friends, Hazel Gentner and Mizella Stone and her wonderful neighbors, Johnny and Daphne Mitchell.

Barbara was a Christian lady who taught Sunday School with her sister-in-law, Billie Jean, for over 50 years. Growing up in the Smyrna area, Barbara and her family had very little material wealth, but they were rich in cousins, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles and grandparents who loved each other and provided the riches of their family bond and love. That rich family bond continued when she married Larry and joined the Tidwell family. She was blessed by a lifetime of family vacations to Gatlinburg, family gatherings at Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter and the 4th of July.

Barbara was retired from National Life (later American General) to a life of gardening, traveling, and doting on her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed, but we take solace in knowing she now walks with God.

Funeral services will be conducted by Dan Dozier and Rev. Greg Dunn on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Woodbine Funeral Home, Hickory Chapel, 5852 Nolensville Road. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as Pallbearers.
