Anita Evalin Ryan Dozier, 95, of Nashville, passed away on October 26, 2024.
Anita was born to Edgar Lee and Francis Louise (Tate) Ryan in Nashville, Tennessee on July 21, 1929.
She graduated from East High School in Nashville in 1947. She married L.C. Dozier on January 3, 1953. Anita moved to South Carolina and worked for the State Highway Department of South Carolina while living with her husband as he served in the army. She moved back to Tennessee and lived in Knoxville for 10 years and raised her two children. While the children were attending school in Nashville, she was employed as a School Crossing Guard for ten years from 1967 to 1977. Anita was a member of Pennington Bend Church of Christ for over 60 years.
Anita is survived by her husband of 71 years, L.C. Dozier; Daughter, Debra Phillips (David), Son, Richard Dozier (Gail), Grandsons, Justin Phillips, Brian Dozier (Clarissa), and Adam Dozier (Jessy); Nephew, Gene Polston; And niece, Denise Hickerson.
Visitation with the family will be held at Phillips-Robinson Funeral Home, 2707 Gallatin Pike, Nashville, TN 37216 Wednesday, October 30th from 10 am until her funeral service at 12pm, with Bro. Daniel Dozier officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery, with Wayne Ryan, Alex Waddell, Robert Loftis, and the East High 1947 School Class as honorary pallbearers. https://www.phillipsrobinson.com
