Alvin Clifton Walden, age 71, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2025. Born on August 13, 1953, at Baptist Hospital in Nashville, Alvin was the beloved son of the late Sula J. Walden and Clifton B. Walden.
On August 21, 1970, Alvin married the love of his life, Judy Mooneyham, at the courthouse in Gallatin, Tennessee. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and deep devotion to family over their 55 years of marriage.
Alvin was a man of great character and strong work ethic. He was a proud small business owner, running his own florist shop, and later worked in security for the Tennessee Titans—two roles that allowed him to share his creativity and his love for people. One of his greatest joys was working for the Titans, combining his passion for the team with his commitment to service, particularly at the St. Thomas Sports Park.
Family meant everything to Alvin. He was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and adoring great-grandfather. He enjoyed spending time surrounded by loved ones, whether camping, woodworking, or watching a Titans game. Alvin’s warm heart, generous spirit, and unwavering dedication to those he cared about will be deeply missed.
He was a faithful member of Lakeshore Christian Church and carried his strong values into every aspect of his life.
Alvin is survived by his beloved wife, Judy M. Walden; his children, Alvin “Jeff” (Amy) Walden Kerri Ann (Jody) Whittemore and Brandon J. (Cheryl) Walden; grandchildren, Kelcie Blair Walden, Sula C. (Brandon) Gladish, Jessica N. (Cisco) Bell, Carolyn “Nicole” (Saige) Tidwell, Hannah Francis, Josh Francis, and Christian (Trey) Guy; nine great-grandchildren; his brother, David (Debbie) Wright; and a host of cousins, extended family, and dear friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, three great-grandchildren, and many cherished aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A gathering of family and friends to honor Alvin’s life will be held on Friday, May 23, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 660 Thompson Ln, Nashville, TN 37204.
