Nashville Software School (NSS) announces a new initiative called Protect the Tech Talent Pipeline (ProTech).

The first phase of ProTech provides free professional development courses for qualified job seekers starting in early 2025. Tech job seekers have faced a challenging job market the past 18+ months with extended search times, because of fewer job openings for junior level talent due to post-pandemic downsizing in tech and economic pressures in many industries. Many tech job seekers have abandoned their job search due to frustration and needing to support themselves and their families.

The ProTech initiative is designed to support junior and mid-level tech workers to improve their competitive edge in the job market and help sustain engagement in their job search.

ProTech’s professional development classes are free to qualified individuals in Middle Tennessee who have existing entry-level tech skills in software development, data analytics, or data science and are searching for their first tech job, or unemployed due to layoffs in the tech industry. The courses are designed to broaden and deepen tech skills and keep these individuals engaged in using their tech skills during their job search. They provide advanced technical skills training which will help job seekers differentiate themselves in the job market. NSS piloted many of the ideas behind ProTech by providing free continuing education classes to 95 graduates in 2024. Students do not need to be a graduate of NSS.

ProTech is targeted to provide training to 300+ tech job seekers in 2025-2026.
