A 23-year-old man was arrested this week by detectives for last Wednesday’s fatal shooting of Jose Lopez-Rivas (whose birth certificate revealed he was 21 at the time of his death) on Woodbine Street. Rivaldo Sis-Tobar was transported to the Metro Jail a short time ago on an outstanding homicide warrant after assistance from community members aided in identifying him as the suspected shooter.
Lopez-Rivas’ brother, Edgar Lopez, 20, who was also present at the time of the fatal shooting, was arrested on Friday for evidence tampering and making false statements to police.
Video evidence obtained by Homicide Unit detectives indicated Lopez helped Sis-Tobar in moving Lopez-Rivas’ body as well as rummaging through his pockets.
